Barham Youth FC Fun Day

The weather was kind to us for our very first football fun day, held today at the Aylesham Leisure Centre.

Almost 20 children joined us for a full day of fun and games. The morning sessions involved the kids performing drills such as Warm Up Movement for Gameplay, Grab a Friend, There & Back, Freestyle Freetime, Strikers & Goalies and much more.

All of the children enthusiastically threw themselves into the drills, pausing only for a drink break now and again (no requests for the loo at all!).

We finished the morning off with a long distance Bottle Target Challenge before stopping for a well-earned lunch break.

The afternoon session was all about match play, with two teams (the reds & the blues) battling for World Cup Glory.

By the end of the afternoon, the blue team were victorious and held the World Cup aloft, before parading it around the pitch.

To finish off the day the children had a further opportunity to win another bottle of lemonade with a short-range bottle challenge.

JMcK Soccer would like to thank all of those that joined us today, and huge thanks to Barham Youth FC for inviting us to come along and work with them on this event. Thanks must also go to the staff and management at the Aylesham Leisure Centre for their assistance in ensuring that our day went off without a hitch.

We now look forward to working with Barham Youth and the Aylesham Centre later in the year, with further dates to be announced shortly.

Our next indoor soccer camp at King Ethelbert’s School in Birchington is from 10 am to 3 pm next Wednesday the 11th of April, we look forward to seeing you there.
